National Memorial Arboretum - only 4 miles away and situated in 150 acres is the UK's living centre of remembrance. Every person killed in conflict since the WWII is listed on the great walls. With over 300 memorials it is truly a very special place to visit and entrance is free.
Rosliston Forestry Centre - about a mile away this is a woodland haven set in 80 acres offering outdoor activities, family fun, weddings, accommodation lodges and all-year round events. We are the closest bed and breakfast you can stay at.Catton Hall - just 3 miles down the lanes is the stately home and country estate which hosts many outdoor events and concerts. Operated from the hall is Seasoned Cookery School expertly ran by Clare Major who runs interesting courses ran by some of the countries top chefs.
Whitemoor Lakes Activity Centre is situated opposite the National Memorial Arboretum. An outdoor activity and conference centre with a 40 acre lake built in 2011 you can sail, do canoeing courses, climb, abseil and lots, lots more.
Garlands Shooting Ground - 3 miles away in Edingale is one of the countries top clay pigeon shooting grounds.
Twycross Zoo is a world renowned primate centre set in 80 acres. Only 8 miles away from us you can see Snow Leopards, Meercats, Penguins, Chimpanzees and more than 150 other species - see http://twycrosszoo.org/ for more information
National Exhibition Centre - the NEC at Birmingham is only 30 minutes drive away. Stay away from the hustle and bustle while you are visiting.
Lichfield Cathedral - 11 miles away is historic Lichfield with its famous 3 spires cathedral, it is one of the oldest places Christian worship in the UK.
Barton Marina - 4 miles away in Barton Under Needwood on the Trent & Mersey canal you can eat, shop and even relax in the cinema.
Calke Abbey - A country house & estate rescued from decline but captured in time, it has to be one of the National Trusts most interesting properties (& we have visited a lot of them!). This really is well worth a visit, you'll need a day to properly see the house and grounds including servants tunnels.
Chapmans Nurseries - our local garden centre & tea rooms is well worth a visit. Kevin is a real plants-man with a huge knowledge.
Beahive Farm Woodland Lakes - caravan & camping, tea room and more. While the others are roughing it, why not sleep in luxury with us!
